Couples Portrait Photography in London - Highlights from 2019

I’ll start right away by saying that 2019 was one of the best years for my portrait photography to date. I was fortunate enough to photograph so many wonderful couples from all over the world in so many different London locations. It has been super fun so a big thank you to everyone who booked me and trusted me to document a moment in your lives together. Each and every photoshoot means a lot to me and I honestly can’t wait to get started in 2020!

I really love photos that capture the happiness and emotion between a couple. Everyone is different and sometimes the whole session might be very light hearted and fun with lots of laughs, whereas some people are more reserved or like a bit more romance. It’s my job as a London portrait photographer to capture who you are together. I offer some guidance with posing but I’m always looking for real interactions between a couple and the moments in-between - call it ‘semi posing’ if you like.

I have learnt a lot about London over the past year and have a few go to places for my photoshoots. London is a beautiful city and I’m really lucky as a photographer to have such a wealth of backdrops for photoshoots. This year I’ve photographed couples in Greenwich, Tower Bridge, Covent Garden, Hampstead Heath, Hyde Park, St. James Park, Victoria Park, Regents Park, Holland Park, Soho to name but a few! It has been a real joy getting to know these places inside out - I even have my favourite trees in each park now!

I have updated my portfolio to really reflect what I love to do, separating the couples shoots into ‘love in nature’ and ‘love in the city.’ Whilst I love shooting in London’s Parks, I also enjoy shooting in the city too! Wherever possible I try to time the shoot with the best light which is usually around late afternoon/sunset time. If your schedule allows it, I really recommend staying as flexible as you can to get the best light.

I’m really looking forward to the year ahead and can’t wait to meet some more lovely couples for some portrait sessions in London. So without further ado, here are my favourite couples portraits of 2019 from London (and a few further afield)!
