Family portrait photography in London - Highlights from 2019

I’m going to start by saying a big thank you to all the wonderful families that booked me as their family portrait photographer in London over the past year. It has been an absolute pleasure capturing these photographs as I know these images will mean a lot in years to come. I really love the thought of my photos living on in someones house for generations - it gives my work real meaning and purpose.

London offers a variety of beautiful locations for family portrait photography from the classic landmarks like Tower Bridge, Greenwich, Covent Garden to our beautiful green parks such as Hyde Park, St. James Park, Regents park and more!

The most enjoyable shoots have been in and around peoples homes or favourite areas. I find this really helps give context to a photo and also helps us all feel more relaxed, especially young kids. Taking a walk through your favourite park or garden really does help get the best photos we can. I also feel it really captures the memory of growing up somewhere so I’m really hoping to do more of these home family shoots in the future.

Of course, a lot of you have visited from overseas so the style and backdrops will be a little different. I recommend London’s Royal Parks combined with a famous landmark to give a nice well rounded family portrait session. For photoshoots with young kids with a lot of energy, it’s great if we can get to a park so they have space to run around a bit and avoid the really crowded areas. I have built up a lot of knowledge about London over the past few years so I know a few quiet areas around some of the bigger landmarks.

Above all, I want to create natural family portraits that show the happiness and warmth of family. I want to document a moment in time that you can look back on in years to come.
